Nara: reinventing the cradle of the Japanese nation

January 18, 2018February 25, 2023mandali

The Nara region contains some of the earliest records and vestiges of Japan transitioning from prehistory into history. The 8th century Asuka and Nara eras, named after the cities where the imperial centers were based, witnessed the first time Japan was ruled nationally from a single region. It was also the beginning of recorded literature, […]

ABOUT

Mandali is a software engineer/executive raised in London and Paris, now based in Tokyo Japan for the last 15 years. This website shares his thoughts related to automated driving and AI systems, as well as other interests such as music, lifestyle, video and other projects.

Over the years I have been fortunate to work across Germany, the UK, France, China, Singapore and of course Japan, gaining a strong understanding of what it takes to be a global leader. Some highlights from my professional life include helping Toyota stand up its autonomy software company Woven Planet and growing it to 2,000+ staff, being the former Chair of non-profit ITS Japan’s Automated Driving Support Center and named one of the top tech entrepreneurs in Asia. Outside of work, I’m a from-time-to-time musician (DJing/music production/guitar-vocal) and video gamer (still discovering my new PlayStation 5).
