Wishing all readers out there a very happy new year 2018! With the end of the year comes reflection on the year past, hopefully providing insights to the year ahead. Looking back at 2017, I realized it’s been 9 months since I started this blog and am reaching the limit of what is available out there in terms of latest experimentation across Japan’s regions. And while I have spent much of this time online, there is a limit to what one can glean from working online/through local networks, and I’m looking this year to spend more time in the regions themselves.
Researching the remaining 9 of Japan’s 47 prefectures that I haven’t yet covered (Aomori, Miyazaki, Saga, Ehime, Kochi, Niigata, Wakayama, Yamanashi and Nara), Nara and possibly Yamanashi/Niigata remain as the last prefectures with significant current activity across mobility and automated driving, and I will be posting on these shortly. But for the time being let me leave you with the above snapshot, taken in Tokyo soon after the new year on a cold but bright January day.
